About Trust Medical
Trust Medical helps the 100M Americans who don't have access to a primary care doctor get the medical documentation they need to take care of their health and protect their jobs.
We focus on two core services: doctor's notes for short-term absences from work, school, or other obligations, and medical leave documentation for people who need extended time away from work to manage their health.
Our mission is to make these services convenient, widely available, affordable, and reliable so patients and physicians can spend less time navigating healthcare administrative work and more time focusing on their health.
We're a fast-growing, ambitious healthcare technology company with a small team that moves quickly, embraces technology, and holds itself to high standards for patient experience, clinical quality, and compliance.
We're looking for a Medical Director who wants to play a meaningful role in building and scaling our clinical operations.
This isn't a traditional Medical Director position focused on maintaining existing protocols and overseeing an established team. We're looking for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, build and improve processes, and help shape the future of a growing company. You'll have significant autonomy, work directly with our leadership team, and see the impact of your decisions firsthand.
What You'll Do
Own Clinical Standards & Compliance
- Partner with our PC owner to develop, implement, and continuously improve clinical protocols, policies, and standards of care.
- Independently evaluate existing clinical workflows to identify compliance risks, operational gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate complex clinical and regulatory requirements into clear, practical processes that providers and operational teams can consistently follow.
- Stay current on relevant telehealth regulations, clinical documentation requirements, and state-specific standards.
- Lead clinical quality assurance initiatives, including chart reviews, documentation audits, and corrective actions when necessary.
Lead & Develop Our Provider Team
- Onboard and train physicians and advanced practice providers on our clinical protocols and operating procedures.
- Serve as a collaborating or supervising physician for nurse practitioners, where permitted by applicable state law and licensure.
- Review provider performance, deliver constructive feedback, and ensure consistent adherence to clinical standards.
- Build scalable training, quality assurance, and performance management processes.
- Work closely with our operations team to identify and resolve clinical workflow challenges.
Improve the Patient Experience
- Evaluate the patient journey and identify opportunities to make our services faster, simpler, and more accessible without compromising clinical quality or compliance.
- Collaborate directly with our founders and operations team to design and implement process improvements.
- Help develop systems that enable our clinical team to deliver consistent, high-quality care as the business grows.
- Bring a patient-first perspective to decisions about clinical operations, technology, and service delivery.
Help Shape the Future of Trust Medical
- Work directly with company leadership to identify opportunities to improve and expand our services.
- Evaluate new service opportunities through both clinical and operational lenses.
- Bring practical, commercially aware recommendations that balance patient outcomes, compliance, operational efficiency, and business growth.
- Take ideas from concept through implementation without requiring a large supporting team.
Provide Asynchronous Clinical Services
- Review patient intake forms and medical histories to determine the appropriateness of medical documentation requests.
- Issue compliant documentation for eligible patients, including doctor's notes for workplace absences and other appropriate use cases.
- Request additional information or follow-up when clinically indicated.
- Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant medical records.
- Work with our administrative team to ensure an efficient patient experience.
Who You Are
- You're a self-starter who takes ownership. You independently identify problems, develop solutions, and drive improvements end to end without needing handholding or a large team.
- You make good decisions and learn fast. You simplify complex problems, identify what matters, make sound decisions quickly, and continuously improve your judgment through experience and feedback.
- You have a strong compliance mindset. You understand clinical and regulatory requirements, proactively identify risks, and translate complex standards into practical, scalable processes.
- You think like an operator. You enjoy building systems, improving processes, and finding simple, effective ways to deliver better outcomes at scale.
- You work hard and hold yourself to exceptional standards. You're dependable, responsive, and willing to go above and beyond to deliver excellent work and achieve ambitious goals.
- You're a team player who makes everyone better. You enjoy coaching others, giving candid feedback, and helping teammates succeed. You're humble, collaborative, and willing to roll up your sleeves wherever the team needs you.
- You have high integrity. You tell the truth, keep your commitments, raise concerns early, and do the right thing even when it's difficult.
- You're entrepreneurial and commercially minded. You love technology, thrive in fast-growing startups, and enjoy finding ways to improve patient care while building a successful business.
- You care about our mission. You believe people deserve the time and support they need to take care of their health, and you're motivated by making that process simpler and more accessible.
