Position Overview

Caris Life Sciences is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Product Strategy to lead the long-term product vision and portfolio strategy across the company’s precision medicine, molecular diagnostics, and AI-enabled healthcare solutions.

The Vice President of Product Strategy will be responsible for product portfolio planning, market strategy, commercialization, and new product opportunities. This executive will partner closely with Product, R&D, Medical Affairs, AI/Data Science, Commercial, Finance, and senior leadership to translate scientific innovation and market needs into differentiated products that improve clinical decision-making and support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s long-term product and portfolio strategy.
  • Define product priorities across molecular profiling, liquid biopsy, early cancer detection, and AI-enabled precision medicine.
  • Lead strategic planning across existing products and future product opportunities.
  • Evaluate new diagnostic products, clinical applications, technologies, and market opportunities.
  • Develop product strategies that strengthen Caris’ position across precision oncology and molecular diagnostics.
  • Lead market assessments, customer segmentation, competitive analysis, and product opportunity evaluation.
  • Translate physician, health system, biopharma, and patient needs into clear product strategies.
  • Develop commercialization strategies for new diagnostic and AI-enabled products.
  • Partner with R&D and Medical Affairs to align scientific innovation with clinical and market opportunities.
  • Work closely with AI and Data Science teams to identify new applications for Caris’ molecular and clinical data assets.
  • Develop product strategies around AI-powered diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment-selection capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Caris’ products across additional cancer types and clinical workflows.
  • Evaluate opportunities across tissue-based testing, liquid biopsy, early detection, and digital pathology.
  • Partner with Commercial leadership to develop positioning, segmentation, launch, and market adoption strategies.
  • Develop business cases and financial models for major product investments.
  • Establish product KPIs covering adoption, utilization, market penetration, customer value, and commercial performance.
  • Lead portfolio prioritization and resource allocation recommendations across major product initiatives.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, competitive developments, clinical trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Identify strategic product partnerships with healthcare systems, biopharma companies, technology organizations, and research institutions.
  • Lead high-priority cross-functional product initiatives from concept through commercialization.
  • Provide executive leadership with portfolio insights, market intelligence, and product investment recommendations.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in product strategy, product management, precision medicine, diagnostics, biotechnology, or healthcare technology.
  • 8+ years of senior product or business leadership experience.
  • Strong experience in molecular diagnostics, precision oncology, genomics, biotechnology, AI-enabled healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Proven track record developing and commercializing complex healthcare or life sciences products.
  • Strong understanding of molecular profiling, genomic testing, oncology, and precision medicine.
  • Experience developing product strategies for diagnostic tests, clinical platforms, or data-driven healthcare solutions.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex product portfolios and investment priorities.
  • Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, clinical data, or computational healthcare applications.
  • Experience translating scientific and clinical innovation into commercially viable products.
  • Strong market analysis, competitive intelligence, financial modeling, and portfolio planning capabilities.
  • Experience developing product launch and commercialization strategies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory, reimbursement, clinical validation, and market-access considerations within diagnostics.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with R&D, Medical Affairs, AI/Data Science, Commercial, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, executive presentation, and strategic decision-making skills.

Pay: $247,000.00 - $301,000.00 per year
