Job Description
About the Role
The Head of Marketing & Partnerships will own CFOAF's overall marketing function and growth strategy.
This is a leadership role, but it is also a hands-on role. You will work directly with firm leadership to determine where we should focus our marketing efforts, build strategic partnerships and referral channels, oversee marketing execution, and ensure the team is producing measurable business results.
You will lead a small marketing function that includes marketing operations and supporting specialists. Your responsibility is not to personally execute every campaign or marketing task, but to set the direction, build the right systems and team, and ensure the work gets done effectively.
A significant part of the role will be developing relationships and partnerships that can create a consistent source of qualified opportunities for CFOAF.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Own CFOAF's overall marketing strategy and growth priorities.
- Translate business objectives into clear marketing plans and initiatives.
- Establish priorities, KPIs, budgets, and accountability across the marketing function.
- Lead and develop the marketing team, including remote team members and specialist resources.
- Work directly with leadership to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and adjust strategy.
- Build a marketing function that becomes increasingly measurable, repeatable, and scalable.
2. Partnerships & Referral Growth
- Build and lead CFOAF's referral and strategic partnership strategy.
- Develop relationships with CPAs, attorneys, financial professionals, business advisors, and other centers of influence.
- Identify opportunities for referral, affiliate, co-marketing, educational, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop systems for managing partner relationships and measuring their contribution to growth.
- Work with leadership to strengthen CFOAF's presence within relevant professional and business networks.
Experience building referral, affiliate, or strategic partnership channels is highly valued.
3. Demand Generation & Brand Growth
- Oversee the firm's overall demand-generation strategy across appropriate marketing channels.
- Guide founder-led marketing and thought leadership.
- Ensure CFOAF's expertise is translated into useful content, campaigns, webinars, and other opportunities to build authority and generate demand.
- Work with the marketing team and external specialists to execute campaigns effectively.
- Ensure marketing reflects CFOAF's positioning, expertise, and target market.
4. Lead Generation & Conversion
- Own the marketing funnel from awareness through qualified opportunity.
- Ensure marketing, CRM, nurture, and follow-up systems work together effectively.
- Establish clear visibility into lead sources, opportunities, conversions, and marketing performance.
- Work with firm leadership to improve the transition from marketing-generated opportunities to sales conversations and new clients.
5. Marketing Performance & Accountability
- Establish and monitor meaningful marketing KPIs.
- Evaluate channel and campaign performance and allocate resources accordingly.
- Measure marketing contribution to qualified opportunities and revenue.
- Regularly communicate marketing performance, priorities, and recommendations to firm leadership.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the firm's acquisition and growth systems.
6. Team & Resource Management
- Lead the day-to-day priorities of the marketing function without becoming the bottleneck for execution.
- Delegate effectively across marketing operations, content, social, design, events, and other specialties.
- Identify when additional internal or external resources are needed.
- Build processes and accountability that allow the team to execute consistently.
- Develop team members and help build the marketing organization as CFOAF grows.
