Job Description
Presidio, Where Teamwork and Innovation Shape the Future
At Presidio, we're at the forefront of a global technology revolution, transforming industries through cutting-edge digital solutions and next-generation AI. We empower businesses - and their internal customers - to achieve more through innovation, automation, and intelligent insights.
The Role
As a Senior Cybersecurity Consulting Leader with Presidio, you will be responsible for scaling an established Cyber Consulting Services organization and growing the business faster than market pace. You will lead Information Security Governance, Cybersecurity Architecture, and Offensive Security while owning the operating performance of the consulting portfolio. You will be accountable for revenue growth, gross profit and margin, utilization, delivery quality, backlog, capacity, and workforce strategy. You will lead through managers and principal consultants while maintaining technical and client credibility to challenge how the practice delivers, scales, and evolves.
Travel Requirements
This is a client-facing role. You will be required to travel up to 30% to client locations to deliver professional services when needed.
Responsibilities Include
- Lead a distributed Cyber Consulting Services organization spanning Information Security Governance, Cybersecurity Architecture, and Offensive Security.
- Grow the business faster than the cybersecurity services market while maintaining expectations for gross profit, gross margin, utilization, delivery quality, and client outcomes.
- Own operating performance across revenue, GP/GM, utilization, backlog, capacity, project economics, delivery forecasting, and engagement health.
- Build workforce plans that balance FTE capacity, skills, backlog, utilization, projected demand, and consulting economics.
- Increase internally delivered services revenue by building FTE capability and using subcontractors selectively for specialized skills or capacity requirements.
- Own subcontractor and third-party delivery strategy, including partner selection, economics, quality, capacity, performance, and appropriate use.
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable managers responsible for consulting teams and individual contributors across multiple cybersecurity disciplines.
- Own succession planning, leadership development, performance management, hiring strategy, career development, and retention across the consulting organization.
- Establish operating mechanisms for resource forecasting, engagement governance, project reviews, quality control, utilization management, and delivery escalations.
- Maintain executive oversight of major consulting engagements and intervene when delivery quality, project economics, client satisfaction, or contractual commitments are at risk.
- Create, evolve, and retire consulting services based on client demand, delivery performance, market changes, technical developments, and the ability to scale delivery.
- Define and improve consulting methodologies, delivery standards, costing models, level-of-effort models, and repeatable engagement structures.
- Challenge Principal-level consultants and practice leaders on technical direction, methodology, service relevance, delivery quality, and opportunities to develop new capabilities.
- Partner with Client Success Management, Sales, and pre-sales teams on strategic engagements, capacity requirements, client needs, and technical sales enablement.
- Develop technical enablement that helps Sales and pre-sales teams identify, position, and qualify appropriate cybersecurity consulting opportunities.
- Engage CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and other executives during strategic engagements, client escalations, executive briefings, and consulting sponsorship activities.
- Build collaboration across governance, architecture, and offensive security teams so clients can access integrated consulting capabilities rather than isolated technical services.
Required Skills and Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent work experience and/or military experience
- Minimum of 12-15 years of cybersecurity experience with progressively increasing leadership responsibility.
- Significant leadership experience in cybersecurity consulting, advisory, professional services, or a comparable client-facing security organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading managers as well as senior individual contributors, with experience operating geographically distributed teams of more than 20 people.
- Experience leading a multi-disciplinary cybersecurity organization that includes governance, security architecture, offensive security, or comparable consulting disciplines.
- Demonstrated financial accountability for a consulting or professional services organization, including revenue, margin, utilization, capacity, and project economics.
- Experience managing project-based consulting delivered through fixed-fee, T&M, retainer, or comparable professional services models.
- Ability to work effectively with Sales and pre-sales organizations without compromising the independence and risk-based approach of a vendor-neutral consulting practice.
- Functional understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., SOX, AICPA SOC Reporting Standards, ISO27001, PCI, NIST, HIPAA) and best practices and methodologies to address these requirements.
- Experience developing workforce plans that balance permanent employees, demand, utilization, specialized skills, and external delivery capacity.
- Experience managing subcontractors or third-party delivery resources while maintaining internal delivery capability as the primary foundation for growth.
- Experience working directly with senior client executives and serving as an escalation point or executive sponsor for complex cybersecurity engagements.
- Ability to manage consulting economics using revenue, gross profit, gross margin, utilization, backlog, capacity, forecasting, and project-level financial performance.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity consulting across GRC, security architecture, offensive security, application security, and cloud security.
- Technical depth sufficient to challenge Principal Consultants on methodologies, technical approaches, service design, delivery quality, and emerging client requirements.
- Ability to translate consulting demand and backlog into FTE hiring, development, subcontractor, and capacity decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to improve utilization and margin without compromising delivery quality or creating unsustainable workloads.
- Experience building repeatable consulting services, including methodology, scope, level-of-effort estimates, costing, staffing models, and delivery standards.
- Ability to identify when consulting services should be expanded, redesigned, standardized, or retired based on performance and market demand.
- Demonstrated success building collaborative teams across distinct technical disciplines and developing managers who can lead experienced practitioners.
- Executive communication skills sufficient to advise and challenge senior client stakeholders and manage difficult delivery or commercial conversations.
- Experience operating in a remote or geographically distributed delivery organization.
- Ability to travel up to 30% for client engagements and internal meetings.
Preferred Skills and Professional Experience
- Experience developing or scaling AI Security consulting capabilities or advising clients on security risks associated with enterprise AI adoption.
- Experience leading service portfolio development, including launching new cybersecurity consulting offerings and retiring services that no longer meet business or client requirements.
- Experience developing technical enablement for Sales and pre-sales teams to improve identification and qualification of consulting opportunities.
- Experience speaking at cybersecurity conferences, client events, executive briefings, or other external forums.
- CISSP, CISM, CISA, or comparable cybersecurity certification.
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, business, or a related field.
- Military leadership or cybersecurity experience
