Psychiatrist Medical Director

Insight Recovery Treatment Center is hiring! We are seeking a Massachusetts-licensed psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for our outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs.

This is a highly flexible position requiring approximately 4 hours per week and is primarily focused on psychiatric oversight, medical leadership, consultation, and regulatory compliance. A significant direct patient-care caseload is not expected.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Medical Director for Insight’s outpatient behavioral health programs
• Provide psychiatric and medical oversight for mental health and substance use disorder services
• Provide oversight and consultation to prescribing provider(s)
• Monitor and supervise medication prescribing as required
• Consult on complex psychiatric, medical, and medication-related cases as needed
• Review relevant clinical documentation and prescribing practices
• Participate in quality assurance, clinical risk management, and continuous quality improvement activities
• Assist with development and review of medical and medication-management policies and procedures
• Support compliance with Massachusetts DPH and BSAS requirements and applicable accreditation standards
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership
• Participate in periodic leadership or clinical meetings as needed
• Perform additional Medical Director functions required by applicable regulations

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Current, unrestricted Massachusetts medical license
• Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry
• Experience treating individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring psychiatric conditions
• Ability to meet applicable Massachusetts BSAS Medical Director requirements
• Experience in addiction medicine or behavioral health strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Massachusetts DPH and BSAS regulations preferred
• Strong collaborative and clinical leadership skills

Experience with outpatient PHP, Day Treatment, IOP, or similar behavioral health programs is a plus.

Compensation & Schedule

• Approximately 4 hours per week
• $200–$225 per hour
• Flexible scheduling

Pay: $200.00 - $225.00 per hour
