Fractional Chief Medical Officer / Medical Director

About the Role

Location: United States — fully remote (any U.S. state); active Texas medical licensure required.

Xenios is developing health-service and technology operations and seeks a physician leader to establish rigorous clinical governance. This is a hands-on fractional role with a defined governance workload, working with the founder, operations lead and appropriate physician-led practice.

Responsibilities

You will review proposed care pathways, define eligibility and escalation standards, assess provider credentialing requirements, establish documentation and quality-review procedures, and review the clinical accuracy of patient education and marketing. You will identify gaps that must be resolved before a service launches and maintain clear separation between commercial goals and individual clinical decisions.

First 60 Days

In the first 60 days, priorities are a documented clinical responsibility map, launch-readiness criteria, an escalation process and a practical quality-review cadence. Direct patient care, prescribing coverage and after-hours coverage are separately scoped and compensated; they are not implied by this governance retainer.

Qualifications

Candidates need an MD or DO, an active unrestricted Texas medical license, relevant board certification, clinical leadership experience, and sound judgment about evidence, patient safety and telehealth. Experience building clinical operations is strongly preferred.

Compensation is not tied to patient referrals or prescription volume.

Schedule and Compensation

32 hours/month; $150–$200/hour ($4,800–$6,400/month).
