ADMINS, Inc. is a long-established provider of financial and administrative software for municipalities throughout New England. This is an opportunity to help shape a next-generation municipal software platform, while working directly with the municipalities that use it. As we embark on a major modernization of our municipal software platform, we are seeking a senior municipal professional to join our management team and help lead the next chapter of the business.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position combining municipal finance expertise, product strategy, customer relationships, business development, and team leadership.

The Director of Municipal Solutions will serve as a key link between ADMINS' municipal customers, software development team, support organization, and company leadership. The individual will help shape the Company's next-generation cloud-based platform while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and helping develop new business.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Strategy

• Serve as a senior municipal subject-matter expert in the Company's software modernization initiative.
• Translate municipal workflows, customer needs, and market requirements into product concepts, requirements, and priorities.
• Work closely with engineering leadership to help define functionality, workflows, reporting, and user experience for the next-generation platform.
• Help evaluate competitive products and identify opportunities for ADMINS to differentiate.
• Gather and prioritize customer feedback and enhancement requests.

Customer Leadership

• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with municipal customers throughout New England.
• Serve as a senior point of contact and escalation resource for key customer issues.
• Lead or participate in customer implementations, training, demonstrations, and product discussions.
• Help customers transition to new software releases and, over time, the Company's cloud-based platform.

Business Development

• Develop and maintain relationships with prospective municipal customers and actively develop new business opportunities.
• Lead or participate in product demonstrations, presentations, and discovery meetings.
• Coordinate and prepare RFP and proposal responses.
• Lead or participate in municipal procurement processes and sales activities.
• Identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing customers.

Leadership & Operations

• Serve as a member of the management team and help establish priorities for the municipal software group.
• Partner closely with the Company's senior engineering leader to align product strategy, municipal requirements, and technical development priorities.
• Manage implementation, conversion, and enhancement projects.
• Help establish priorities across customer commitments, product development, and internal initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and facilitate collaboration across the organization.

Qualifications

Required

• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in municipal finance, accounting, municipal administration, government financial systems, or related public-sector leadership.
• Significant experience working with municipalities in Massachusetts and New England.
• Established relationships with municipal finance and administrative leaders throughout New England.
• Strong understanding of municipal financial operations, including fund accounting, budgeting, general ledger, payroll, revenue, tax collection, financial reporting, and related processes.
• Experience using, implementing, administering, or evaluating municipal ERP or financial software.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to translate municipal business requirements into practical software requirements and priorities.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel in a small, entrepreneurial organization.

Preferred

• Prior experience as a Finance Director, Town Accountant, Treasurer/Collector, Controller, Assistant Finance Director, or comparable municipal leader.
• Experience with systems such as Tyler Munis, VADAR, CentralSquare, OpenGov, or comparable municipal ERP platforms.
• Experience with RFPs, government procurement, software implementations, and data conversions.
• Experience with cloud/SaaS software, analytics, automation, or AI-enabled applications.
• Experience in product management, business analysis, or software modernization.
• Willingness to travel periodically throughout Massachusetts and New England for customer meetings, demonstrations, conferences, and other business activities

Job Details

• Total compensation opportunity of $130,000–$170,000, including base salary and performance-based bonus.
• Fully remote workplace, with occasional travel to custom locations and Boston office

We are looking for someone who understands municipal government from the inside, has the credibility and relationships to work effectively with municipal leaders, and is excited about helping build something new.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
