Chief Information Officer

The Center for Children’s Advocacy (CCA), the largest children’s rights organization in New England, seeks a Chief Information Officer (CIO) Consultant (12-Month Fractional Contract Position). CCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to enforcing the legal rights of low-income children. More information about the Center can be found on CCA’s website: www.cca-ct.org.

CCA has a contracted IT firm that provides IT managed services and IT security. CCA is at the stage of organizational growth where it needs a high-level position to develop and oversee its information technology strategy.

This opening is for a Chief Information Officer (CIO) Consultant. Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing the organization's technology and developing and overseeing progress on a 1-3 year technology roadmap that aligns with CCA's mission, values, and strategic goals
• Providing annual IT budget recommendations and overseeing the IT budget
• Assessing technology-related risks and advising on AI usage, cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning
• Developing and enforcing IT policies, procedures, and best practices
• Overseeing key IT systems such as CRM, accounting, and program management platforms, including evaluating effectiveness, supporting vendor selection processes, and assisting with contract renewals

· Managing CCA’s software and hardware needs

• Hiring and managing a part-time onsite field technician
• Overseeing relationships with vendors and contractors including the IT firm that provides CCA with IT managed services and IT security

Candidates should have

* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field.

· A minimum of seven years of experience managing IT operations, including progressively responsible managerial, supervisory, and administrative experience. Experience in IT management and leadership roles in a nonprofit and/or legal services organization is preferred.

Compensation

Salary: $150 - $175 per hour

Location: Can be remote or in-person
