Job Description
Vice President of Home Operations
The Vice President of Home Operations leads the production side of Liechty Homes: every step from factory order and delivery through set, finish and charge-out (final closeout and handoff to accounting), then service and warranty. The role is built around one measure: how many homes Liechty can deliver each year, on time and at quality.
Liechty International operates manufactured housing dealerships and communities across North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota and is expanding. Home Operations is becoming system-driven: one production schedule, clear handoffs from Sales, and dependable crews and subcontractors.
We believe that a great VP of Home Operations will be an architect who designs a system that moves every home on schedule; a general who sets the direction and keeps every team moving in step; a team builder who recruits, develops and keeps great crews and leaders; and a steward who grows capacity while protecting quality, margin and the customer.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Own annual delivery capacity (homes per year, on time and at quality) and lead the plan to grow it, region by region, in balance with sales.
- Own the production system and its standards, with dashboards that flag at-risk homes right away.
- Shape the set crew and subcontractor strategy: how much set work stays in-house, where crews are based, and the safety standards for transport and crew work.
- Recruit, develop and retain the Home Operations team, including the people who line up crews, trucks, equipment and materials ahead of each home's schedule.
- Be accountable for order timing, build quality and delivery logistics with manufacturing partners.
- Establish a formal Sales-to-Operations handoff so every home enters production ready to build.
- Lead service and warranty, and set their standards, through the Warranty Manager.
- Own the Home Operations P&L and bring the CEO business cases for capacity investments.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of operations leadership in homebuilding, manufactured or modular housing, construction or another production environment, including leading other leaders.
- Construction or project management expertise, including building and running schedules and systems that coordinate many concurrent jobs, crews and subcontractors.
- P&L ownership, command of unit economics, cost control and capital planning, and strong negotiation skills with manufacturers, subcontractors and vendors.
- Experience deploying workflow, scheduling or ERP software and running operations from data; comfort adopting AI-enabled tools and training others on them.
- A record of building strong field teams and leading them through change by bringing people along, with high Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience; an MBA is a plus.
Preferred
- Manufactured or modular housing experience: factory coordination, home set and HUD code.
- Experience scaling operations through new locations or acquisitions.
- Continuous improvement experience in cutting cycle time and rework.
Reporting & Success Measures
Reports to the Chief Executive Officer and serves on the executive team. Directly supervises the Production Manager and the Warranty Manager. Works daily with the VP of Sales and branch managers, Finance, and manufacturing partners. This role can be performed remotely and requires travel monthly or more often.
Success in this role is measured by

Compensation
- Base salary range: $130,000 – $190,000 per year. The final compensation plan is subject to location, experience, performance and other factors.
- This role includes a performance bonus plan aligned with Liechty's strategic goals.
- Full benefits package (health, retirement, paid time off, cell phone stipend and professional development).
