Vice President - Environmental Health & Safety

Beacon Mobility is currently seeking a people focused safety professional with a diverse background and successful track record in driving sustained injury and risk reduction. The right candidate for the Vice President of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will drive the execution of the organization’s enterprise strategy across transportation operations. The Vice President will establish and leverage strong relationships with Operations, Fleet Maintenance, Human Resources, Risk Management, Legal, and senior leadership to reduce incidents, strengthen visibility, mitigate risk, and improve employee engagement across a geographically dispersed workforce.

This role serves as the senior subject matter expert for occupational safety, driver safety, crisis response, and regulatory affairs while advancing an engaged, data-driven safety culture focused on creating the best rider experience.Leadership Philosophy

The Vice President will use data, artificial intelligence, telematics, and modern safety tools to enhance human judgment, strengthen prevention in support of a caring, reliable, and connected transportation experience.

Strategic Leadership

• Execute and improve an enterprise EHS strategy aligned with business priorities, growth, and operational goals.
• Leverage a team of directors to drive clarity and alignment on safety expectations, scalable processes, and continual improvement conversations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to operations leadership and the executive team on safety, health, and risk.

Safety Management & Risk Reduction

• Partner with safety, operations and people team leaders to achieve measurable injury improvements.
• Drive measurable reductions in vehicle incidents and workers’ compensation claims.
• Leverage analysis models to drive corrective action, and verification of sustained improvements.

Environmental Compliance & Sustainability

• Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental requirements.
• Oversee programs related to industry relevant OSHA regulations and injury risks.
• Partner with Fleet, Facilities and Operations on electrification, emissions reduction, and environmentally responsible operating practices.

Incident Response & Crisis Management

• Serve as the lead for serious collisions, injuries, environmental events, and other significant incidents.
• Ensure timely escalation, investigation, reporting, communication, and corrective action.
• Partner with Legal, Risk, People, Facilities, Fleet, and Operations during major events.
• Maintain emergency preparedness, response protocols, and business continuity coordination.

Training & Safety Culture

• Support effective safety onboarding, required certifications, recurrent training, and field coaching.
• Promote employee engagement, behavioral safety practices, recognition, and shared accountability.
• Equip leaders to communicate safety expectations clearly and reinforce them consistently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental management, engineering, industrial hygiene, risk management, business administration, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 12 or more years of progressive EHS, safety, risk, or operational leadership experience, including senior leadership responsibility in a complex, multi-site organization.
• Proven success leading safety transformation, regulatory compliance, incident reduction, and culture change across geographically dispersed operations.
• Strong working knowledge of transportation safety, occupational safety, environmental compliance, fleet risk, and crisis management.
• Executive communication skills with the ability to influence operators, functional leaders, senior executives, regulators, and external partners.

Preferred Credentials

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or comparable credential.
• OSHA 30-hour General Industry training and advanced incident investigation training.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000 base salary plus 25% bonus
