### About The Role
MatrixCare is seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, and hands-on Senior Director of Product Marketing to establish, scale, and lead our Product Marketing discipline from the ground up.
This is an essential player-coach role designed for a proactive self-starter and master collaborator. You will define the discipline's operational frameworks, launch tiers and standards while personally rolling up your sleeves to conduct customer research, craft category-defining positioning, and drive high-impact go-to-market (GTM) motions.
Crucially, you will serve as the strategic linchpin connecting Product Management and our Commercial Field teams (Sales, Account Management, and Field Marketing), synthesizing market realities and customer insights to directly shape our product roadmap and equip the field to win.
### What You’ll Do
Function Building & Strategic Leadership (The "Coach")
- Stand Up the Discipline: Design and operationalize the Product Marketing operating model at MatrixCare, including tiered launch frameworks, standardized GTM playbooks, asset governance, and performance metrics.
- Lead and Scale the Team: Initially execute with a hands-on, individual-contributor mindset while charting the multi-year talent roadmap to recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing product marketing team as the organization expands.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the primary bridge connecting Product Management, Engineering, Commercial Field teams, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership.
Voice of Customer (VoC), Market Intelligence & Macro Trends
- Conduct Voice of Customer (VoC) Research: Lead structured qualitative and quantitative customer research (customer interviews, advisory boards, user panels, and win/loss analyses) to capture unvarnished market sentiment, operational pain points, and unmet workflow needs.
- Monitor Macro Industry & Technology Trends: Partner with the Clinical Compliance team to track healthcare regulatory updates, reimbursement shifts (e.g., value-based care models), post-acute policy mandates, and disruptive technology trends (e.g., interoperability standards, automation, AI/ML etc.).
- Competitive Intelligence & Battlecards: Systematically audit the competitive landscape, translating intelligence into actionable competitive matrices, objection-handling guides, and dynamic battlecards for field teams.
Strategic Partnership with Product Management
- Inform Strategy & Roadmaps: Channel direct insights from VoC, competitive audits, and macro trend tracking into Product Management to validate product-market fit, refine investment priorities, and influence roadmap development.
- Market Opportunity Sizing: Conduct TAM/SAM sizing and market opportunity assessments for proposed features, add-on modules, and net-new solutions.
- Pricing & Packaging Strategy: Partner with Product and Finance leadership to design, test, and optimize value-based pricing, packaging tiers, and bundling strategies that drive customer lifetime value and expansion.
Messaging, Positioning & Buyer Personas (The "Player")
- Persona Mastery: Become the organizational authority on post-acute care buyers (C-suite, clinical directors, finance/billing leaders) and daily end users (nurses, care coordinators, administrative staff), mapping their unique decision criteria and buying journeys.
- Differentiated Value Narratives: Transform complex EHR workflows and clinical technologies into clear, resonant, value-driven positioning that differentiates MatrixCare from legacy and emerging competitors.
Go-to-Market (GTM) Motions & Product Launches
- Tailored GTM Motions: Partner closely with Commercial field leadership to define and execute the appropriate GTM motion for every initiative, whether direct enterprise field sales, velocity inside sales, digital self-serve, or customer base cross-sell/up-sell.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Orchestrate matrixed launch teams across product, engineering, regulatory, commercial, and client support to ensure seamless market readiness.
- Post-Launch Performance Tracking: Measure and optimize post-launch metrics, including pipeline velocity, win rates, ARR contribution, and customer adoption curves.
Commercial Enablement & Content Creation
- Field Readiness: Partner with Sales Enablement to train commercial teams on consultative, value-based storytelling and positioning narratives.
- Produce High-Impact Collateral: Personally author and maintain critical sales enablement assets across the buyer journey: buyer playbooks, pitch decks, demo flow scripts, solution briefs, ROI calculators, and customer case studies.
- Demand Gen & Field Marketing Alignment: Partner with Field Marketing and Demand Generation teams to supply foundational messaging, campaign architectures, and thought leadership content for pipeline generation.
### What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record of establishing or substantially revamping a Product Marketing function from the ground up, paired with a genuine desire to write collateral, interview customers, and lead launches directly.
- High agency, intellectual curiosity, and self-direction. A natural relationship builder who breaks down organizational silos, aligns diverse viewpoints, and drives consensus across cross-functional partners.
- 10+ years of progressive product marketing experience in B2B SaaS, including 3+ years in a senior leadership capacity (Director or Senior Director).
- Prior domain expertise in HealthTech / Health IT / Digital Health is required.
- Demonstrated success designing and executing rigorous Voice of Customer (VoC) programs, customer advisory boards, and structured win/loss analyses that measurably influenced product direction.
- Proven ability to act as a strategic advisor to Product Management, translating market trends and competitive dynamics into actionable roadmap recommendations.
- Exceptional written, visual, and verbal storytelling skills with a portfolio of high-impact messaging frameworks, sales assets, and executive presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline (MBA or Pragmatic Institute / PMA certification is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with post-acute care, EHR/EMR platforms, home health, hospice, senior living, or long-term care workflows is strongly preferred.
### What Success Looks Like
- You have defined the product marketing structure and begun hiring across competitive intelligence, voice-of-customer research, and pricing and packaging.
- You have completed an initial competitive intelligence scan across priority competitors and executed voice-of-customer and prospect research to validate the portfolio hypothesis.
- You have fully staffed the product marketing function, stood up a recurring competitive intelligence program with battlecards, and completed a full pricing and packaging audit with recommendations.
