Job Description

About BoardWise

BoardWise helps licensed professionals navigate licensing-board complaints, investigations, continuing education audits, and other regulatory matters. Our platform combines structured workflows, educational guidance, document preparation, and access to independent attorneys for separately engaged legal services.

We’re building relationships with professional liability insurers, brokers, and other organizations that want to make professional-license support more accessible and efficient.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced insurance partnerships leader who can turn commercial opportunities into signed agreements and successful launches.

You will work directly with our founding team to develop and sell partnerships with professional liability carriers, managing general agents, program administrators, and brokers. This is a hands-on business development role with significant influence over our partnership strategy, pricing, and distribution model.

The ideal candidate understands how insurers evaluate outside services, who controls the relevant budgets, and how to move an agreement through underwriting, claims, legal, procurement, and implementation.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and engage insurance organizations serving nurses, behavioral health professionals, allied health practitioners, and other licensed professionals.
  • Build relationships with underwriting, claims, product, distribution, and executive leaders.
  • Advance existing opportunities and develop a focused pipeline of new partners.
  • Shape commercial proposals, pricing, paid pilots, referral arrangements, and broader distribution agreements.
  • Build business cases around policyholder support, operational efficiency, and measurable economic value.
  • Lead negotiations in collaboration with the founders and legal counsel.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and help partners navigate procurement and vendor review.
  • Work with our product and operations teams to define realistic launch requirements and success measures.
  • Maintain clear pipeline reporting, forecasts, and next steps.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated success selling services or technology to insurance carriers, MGAs, program administrators, or insurance brokers.
  • Experience personally owning complex sales or partnerships from initial outreach through contracting and launch.
  • Knowledge of professional liability, healthcare professional liability, errors and omissions coverage, or related specialty insurance markets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business leaders and operational teams.
  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and follow-through.
  • Comfort working in an early-stage company where you will help develop the approach while executing it.
  • An interest in improving how licensed professionals access support when their careers are at risk.

Especially Relevant Experience

  • Existing relationships in professional liability or specialty insurance.
  • Launching policyholder benefits, risk-management services, legal-support programs, or embedded technology offerings.
  • Structuring paid pilots and expanding them into ongoing commercial relationships.
  • Selling into both underwriting and claims organizations.
  • Working with a startup or bringing a new insurance-related offering to market.

What Success Looks Like

Success means building qualified relationships, moving opportunities toward clear decisions, closing commercially sound agreements, and helping launch partnerships that deliver measurable value.

Compensation and Structure

Compensation and engagement structure will be discussed transparently during the initial conversation. BoardWise is an early-stage company, and the scope of the role will reflect the agreed arrangement and available resources. Any base compensation, consulting fees, performance incentives, or equity participation will be defined in a written agreement before work begins.

How to Apply

Please submit your résumé or LinkedIn profile and a brief note describing:

  • The insurance markets and types of organizations you know best.
  • One partnership or enterprise sale you personally helped close, including your role.
  • Your preferred engagement structure and availability.

Please keep examples nonconfidential. We do not expect applicants to disclose proprietary information or bring confidential materials from previous employers.
