Reports To

Vice President of Sales

Position Summary

The c3Energy Sales Director will plan, organize and control all sales activities related to his/her assigned Business Segment including but not limited to setting strategy, managing budget, managing the sales process, driving profitable sales growth within the Business Segment to both existing and new c3controls customers. The c3Energy Sales Director will also be responsible for supervising and organizing a sales team, developing strategies, business plans, key market development plans, meeting planned goals, and overseeing the activities and performance of a sales team by tracking sales goals, setting individual sales targets, and facilitating ongoing training of salespeople. This role requires strategic thinking and will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to penetrate the traditional c3Energy Market Verticals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The duties of the c3Energy Sales Director include

  • Assumes overall leadership responsibility for the sales activities within his/her Business Segment Sales Team.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing specific market vertical penetration plans for key markets in the segment..
  • Assigns accounts and sets quotas for the Business Segment Sales Team in conjunction with the VP of Sales.
  • Motivates and encourages the Business Segment Sales Team to perform to their full potential and ensure quotas are met.
  • Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with meeting quotas.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new market segments/applications in conjunction with the VP of Sales.
  • Identifies key markets and develops growth strategies to maximize sales.
  • Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
  • Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests products that will meet those needs.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies.
  • Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves expenses for the Business Segment in conjunction with the VP of Sales.
  • Acts as Company representative at trade association meetings.
  • Keeps management informed of project status and key issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
  • Keeps current with industry insights, current c3controls product mixes, monitors competition by gathering current relevant marketplace intelligence including information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
  • Partners with internal resources to accomplish growth objectives. Establishes and maintains clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, customer opportunities, new customer developments and other customer specific information.

Required Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Business Administration, or a related field, or comparable record of sales/sales management performance.
  • A minimum of 10 years of sales and/or sales management experience and proven success within the c3Energy Market Verticals with 20 years preferred.
  • Experience leading Sales teams focused on the following markets; Critical Infrastructure (Switchgear/Power/Utility/Data Center/Grid), Oil &Gas/Petrochem, Mining, Water/Wastewater, Boilers/Burners, Construction Equipment, Military and Clean Energy (Solar/Wind, Hydrogen/EV).
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with G-Suite or related software.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
  • Must have excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter; self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting; operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work and succeed independently.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Hires and trains Market Vertical Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Territory Managers, Sales Engineers and Inside Sales representatives..
  • Provide performance feedback that is timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with Company policy.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.

Working Conditions

This position is remote.

Travel

Travel (15-25%) is necessary to customer locations, conferences, seminars, etc.

Position

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
