We are looking for a Director, Talent to lead enterprise strategies that strengthen leadership, develop workforce capabilities, foster employee engagement and support business performance. The Director, Talent will oversee talent management, training & development, as well as organizational effectiveness and employee engagement and listening. Working closely with senior leaders, the Director will translate business priorities and workforce insights into practical programs that build a strong leadership pipeline, bridge skills gaps and prepare employees for future opportunities, and improve organizational performance. The Director will lead a team and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, operations, sales and HR Business Partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated talent strategy aligned with BrandSafway's business priorities and workforce needs.
  • Lead enterprise performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, career development, and leadership development.
  • Oversee execution of the annual performance management and calibration cycle, ensuring consistent and timely implementation across the business.
  • Strengthen leadership pipelines by identifying critical roles, assessing organizational readiness, and developing future leaders.
  • Lead the employee engagement and listening strategy, including enterprise surveys, pulse surveys, focus groups, listening sessions, action planning, and organizational health measurement.
  • Guide the implementation of enterprise employee listening and engagement initiatives, including vendor partnerships, survey deployment, and follow-through on action plans.
  • Translate employee feedback and workforce data into clear priorities and practical actions that strengthen engagement, retention, accountability, leadership effectiveness, and business performance.
  • Partner with operations and functional leaders to develop training that strengthens workforce capability, safety, productivity, and jobsite performance.
  • Partner with commercial leaders to develop sales training and enablement programs that improve product and solution knowledge, consultative selling, and sales effectiveness.
  • Assess and evolve sales training and development programs to address changing commercial priorities and field needs.
  • Design and rapidly deploy practical onboarding and development programs for branch managers and other frontline leaders in partnership with regional operations.
  • Establish consistent learning standards while adapting programs to the needs of regions, functions, branches, and employee groups.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify talent gaps, workforce risks, capability needs, and organizational effectiveness opportunities.
  • Establish clear measures of success and use talent, engagement, learning, and business data to evaluate impact and continuously improve programs.
  • Lead change management for major business and workforce initiatives in partnership with Communications, HR, and business leaders.
  • Evaluate and strengthen the systems, tools, content, and external partnerships that support talent and learning priorities.
  • Develop and manage the function's budget, resources, and operating plan.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Lead and stabilize a consolidated, geographically distributed team, clarifying responsibilities, rebuilding trust, and supporting employees through organizational change.
  • Foster an inclusive, accountable, and high-performance culture that encourages continuous learning, collaboration, and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Psychology, Education, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in talent management, learning and development, employee engagement, organizational development, or related discipline.
  • Strong field and operational experience, with an understanding of the development needs of frontline employees and leaders.
  • Experience working in industrial services, construction, manufacturing, or similarly decentralized, field-intensive operations strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success building or transforming talent and learning programs in evolving organizations with shifting priorities and limited established processes.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to connect talent and development investments to operational, commercial, and financial outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior executives and build alignment across a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, facilitation, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior executives, branch managers, and frontline employees, balancing executive presence with an approachable, hands-on leadership style.
  • Experience leading teams, managing budgets, and overseeing external partners or vendors.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CPTD, or comparable credentials are preferred.
