About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Product - Core to own Ozlo's core product line, including consumer hardware and software, as part of a product team that also includes Platform (sensors, biometrics and shared technology) and Clinical (clinical software and applications). You will report to the Co-Founder and President, work directly with design and engineering, and own the product and its delivery. There will be some management responsibility, but the core of the role is owning the product, not managing others.

What You'll Do

• Own the full core suite: Sleepbuds hardware, case, firmware, and the iOS and Android app, current generation and next
• Set product priorities with leadership, bringing a clear, evidence-based view of what to build and why
• Own delivery with engineering: translate priorities into requirements, plans and milestones, manage tradeoffs across hardware, firmware and software, and keep programs on schedule and on cost
• Approach product as a commercial build, not a feature list: build and own business cases covering pricing, unit cost, margin, attach, subscription and volume
• Partner with design to hold a high bar for comfort, industrial design, packaging and app experience
• Work as one product team with Platform and Clinical to build cohesion across all Ozlo product lines
• Ground decisions in customer reviews, support and return data, app analytics and research
• Keep stakeholders informed with clear, regular updates on status, risks and decisions

What You Bring

------------------

• A strong background in product and program management for connected consumer hardware (audio, wearables, consumer electronics or similar)
• A track record of shipping physical products at scale, from concept through manufacturing, launch and post-launch support
• Technical depth across hardware, firmware and mobile software, with the ability to engage engineers on architecture and tradeoffs
• Commercial judgment, including building business plans and product P&L models
• A track record of owning delivery with engineering teams: hitting dates, managing scope and risk, and making hard calls
• Daily use of AI tools to guide and speed up research, specs, analysis, prototyping and stakeholder communication
• Clear, direct communication skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment and willing to do the work yourself

Nice to Have

• You have built your own product, inside a brand or on your own, at any scale
• Previous startup experience, as a founder or early employee
• Experience with Bluetooth audio products (BLE, LE Audio)
• Experience with subscription or membership products attached to hardware
• Exposure to health, wellness or regulated products (FDA, SaMD)
• Experience working with global contract manufacturers

Location & Travel

Our preferred location for this role is Dublin, Ireland (Dublin office), New York metro (Manhattan office) or Greater Boston (Marlborough office), but we are open to remote candidates anywhere. Some travel to our offices and manufacturing partners is expected.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 per year. Actual compensation offered will depend on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
