The Director, Industrial Print - Label will own territory sales of Konica Minolta digital label production equipment, including AccurioLabel AL231 and AL400 and embellishment technologies. This is a quota-carrying individual contributor position, not a label program management or people-management role.

*The ideal candidate should reside in California.*

Responsibilities: * Independently develop and close new equipment opportunities with pressure-sensitive label converters, trade label printers, packaging producers, and commercial printers entering label production. * Build relationships with converter owners, presidents, operations leaders, production managers, and financial decision-makers; develop direct access to decision-makers. * Assess current narrow-web flexographic and digital equipment, label applications, run lengths, SKU proliferation, changeovers, waste, make-ready, labor, and capacity limitations. * Demonstrate a practical understanding of pressure-sensitive label production, including facestocks, films, adhesives, liners, coated/uncoated materials, color management, and durability requirements. * Evaluate complete production workflows, including prepress, variable data, inspection, lamination, die cutting, slitting, rewinding, finishing, and third-party converting integrations. * Develop ROI/TCO models comparing digital and flexographic production: plate costs, setup, waste, throughput, consumables, finishing, service, labor, and utilization. * Position AL231 and AL400 based on customer application fit, productivity, quality, and economics rather than price alone; accurately qualify when the solution is not a fit. * Coordinate customer samples, demonstrations, application validation, NDA, ROI, financing, contract execution, and installation planning. * Develop pipeline through direct prospecting, converter associations, industry events, supplier relationships, and collaboration with Direct and Dealer teams. * Maintain credible forecasts and deal progression, with dated customer commitments and accurate CRM documentation.

Performance and operating expectations

==========================================

  • Own an annual equipment sales quota and create sufficient qualified pipeline to support it.
  • Maintain a field-focused schedule, targeting at least three customer-facing days per week as territory conditions permit.
  • Use Salesforce to record meaningful customer engagement, accurate opportunity stages, next steps, forecast dates, and close risks.
  • Follow the required sales process: discovery and ROI, NDA before protected samples, demonstration/validation before proposal where applicable, and approval before concessions.
  • Bring well-supported pricing or commercial requests only when the customer decision process, mutual commitments, and path to signature are clear.
  • Participate in weekly pipeline reviews with specific actions to create new business and advance qualified opportunities.

Travel and territory: Regular travel throughout the assigned geography is required. Specific location and territory to be confirmed in the posting.

Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. * 8+ years of successful sales experience, including substantial direct experience selling label printing presses or label production equipment to converters or label manufacturers. * Demonstrated track record personally prospecting, positioning, negotiating, and closing label equipment transactions; label-material sales alone do not meet this requirement. * Strong knowledge of narrow-web digital and/or flexographic label production, converter workflows, and the economics of short-, medium-, and variable-run label work. * Ability to evaluate label substrates, applications, finishing requirements, and integration needs across a production line. * Proven experience engaging owners and senior operations/finance leaders and presenting equipment ROI, productivity, and TCO. * Familiarity with competing label press platforms and ability to articulate differentiation without relying on discounting.

Preferred qualifications

============================

  • Experience selling digital toner or inkjet label presses alongside conventional flexographic equipment.
  • Relationships with independent label converters, packaging producers, and relevant industry suppliers or associations.
  • Knowledge of nearline/offline finishing, embellishment, inspection, and converting systems.
