Position Purpose

MBO Partners is looking for a Director of Data Engineering to own the design, delivery, and operation of our enterprise data platform. This is a working technical leadership role. You will spend at least half your time writing code and models, and the balance across architecture, review, troubleshooting, planning, and leading a small engineering team. You will inherit a mature platform with real users and real obligations. You will be responsible for keeping it fast, affordable, and reliable, and for constantly making it more useful to the business. The role sits within Product, alongside Product Engineering and Product Management. For an engineer or architect ready for their first formal leadership seat, it offers something uncommon: full design authority over the platform from day one, reporting directly to an SVP, without waiting to inherit it.
